Konerko signs with White Sox
First baseman Paul Konerko will stay in the windy city after signing a five-year, $60 million deal to return to the World Series champs.
The Chicago White Sox won the race to resign Konerko who became a free agent after the White Sox won their first World Series title since 1917.
Konerko said, ``It's a simple as where your heart is. That's what brought me back."

"The best recruiting move the White Sox could do was bringing him in," said Konerko of Jim Thome who signed on last week from Philadelphia.
The 29 year old Konerko, who won the MVP of the AL championship series win over the Angels after hitting two homers and seven RBIs added, ``Relationships made this deal happen,"
``You have family, all things came into play. At the end of the day, `OK, I'm a baseball player and where am I going to feel the best?"'
"In the end, it was not because we won the World Series last year, but because we can win one this year," he said.
Konerko will earn $12 million a season after earning a $8.75 million base salary last season. He did spurn the Angels who offered just over $60 million for five years, and the Orioles who offered a $65 million, five-year deal.
