Bucks banking on Bogut

The Milwaukee Bucks have handed the center role to number 1 draft pick Andrew Bogut after trading center Jamaal Magloire to the Portland Trail Blazers for guard Steve Blake, forward Brian Skinner and South Korean center Ha Seung-Jin on Monday.

The deal will see seven foot Australian Bogut take over at his preferred position from the 6-foot-11 Magloire who averaged 9.2 points and a team-high 9.5 rebounds for Milwaukee last season.

Bogut averaged 9.4 points and 7 rebounds per game playing as a forward.

Blake joins the Bucks to give Milwaukee some added backup for star shooting guard Michael Redd. 30 year old journeyman Skinner, will add some depth to the front court as he returns to the Bucks for a second stint having averaged a career-best 10.5 points for the Bucks in the 2003-04 season

The TrailBlazers now have some legitimate big men in the front court having signed 7-1 center Joel Przybilla to a long-term deal and 6-11 draft pick LaMarcus Aldridge.
