Nuggets Sign Nene to $60 million Deal
The Denver Nuggets have signed 23-year-old restricted free agent Nene to a six-year, $60 million contract to stay in Denver.
Nene was sidelined throughout last season with a knee injury sustained in the season opener.
Nuggets director of player personnel Mark Warkentien said he wasn't too worried about Nene being fit for the season opener.
Nene is about 80% fit at this stage of his rehabilitation after suffering a ruptured right anterior cruciate ligament.

Warkenstein said, "This is a six-year program," referring to the length of Nene's contract.
Coach George Karl was pleased with the signing saying, "When Nene got hurt, it was just one of the worst-feeling days of my life because I thought he was ready to have a great year."
"I thought he had worked very hard. It was a tough year for everybody. I think today is a day where we can kind of push everything in the past behind us."
Nene is the second big signing for the Nuggets who gave rising star Carmelo Anthony a five-year, $80 million contract extension.
