Mayweather makes short work of Gatti

Floyd Mayweather Junior scored a TKO win over an outclassed Arturo Gatti to win the WBC super lightweight title in Atlantic City. The unbeaten Mayweather may now take on Britain's IBF champion Ricky Hatton who was watching at ringside.

The overmatched Gatti was left bewildered and beaten by Mayweather who took full advantage of his power and speed before Gatti's corner called it quits at the end of the sixth round.
Mayweather stunned Gatti landing 168 punches to only 41 by the local hope before a sellout crowd at Boardwalk Hall
Mayweather improved his record to 34 wins and 0 losses while Gatti's record dropped to 39 wins and 7 losses.
