Tyson Quits At End Of Sixth Round

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson called it quits at the end of the sixth round of his fight against Irish journeyman Kevin McBride in Washington on Saturday. The 38-year-old said his career was now effectively over, nineteen years after becoming the youngest heavyweight champion of all time.

Tyson said, "I don't have the stomach for this anymore. I most likely won't fight anymore. I'm not going to disrespect the sport by losing to this caliber of fighters."

"I was just fighting to pay off the bills. I'm not an animal anymore."

"You're smart too late and old too soon," Tyson said. "I just got caught up in that suction cup. I feel like Rip Van Winkle right now.''

"I felt like I was 120 years old,"

The 32 year old McBride said, "This win was for the pride of Ireland. I proved everyone wrong tonight.''

Tyson picked up $5 million for what is likely to be his last fight while McBride will collect $150,000.
