Flintoff to be fit for Ashes

England's Ashes captain Andrew Flintoff has declared he will be fit for the first Ashes Test against Australia starting on November 23 in Brisbane.

The England allrounder is recovering from ankle surgery last to remove some scar tissue surrounding a tendon at the back of the ankle.

Flintoff has already begun a rehabilitation program with his fitness trainer and is hopeful of being fit to play in twelve weeks.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has already looked into the possibility of Flintoff gaining some match practice by playing grade cricket ahead of the Ashes Series opener.
