Senden breaks through for first PGA Tour win

Australian John Senden won his first PGA Tour event when he held off the fast finish J.P Lewis at the John Deere Classic. The Queenslander shot a 3-under par 68 to finish at 19-under par 265 and claim a one stroke victory that saw him automatically qualify for this week's British Open

Senden put himself in pole position to claim his first PGA Tour victory on Saturday when he shout a blistering 64 to take a three shot lead into the final round.

He calmed the nerves with birdies at the opening two holes but still needed a birdie at the par five 17 to be assured of victory after Lewis shot a six under par 65 to give himself a chance of claiming his third PGA Tour victory.
