Woods wins 11th Major
Tiger Woods won his 11th Major Championship when posting an 18-under par total of 270 at The Open. The defending British Open champion made light work of the Royal Liverpool Gold Club.
Woods made it nine American winners in the last 11 years as he shot a 5 under par final round of 67 to defeat fellow American Chris DiMarco by two strokes with Ernie Els a further three shots back at 16 under.

Woods closed in on Jack Nicklaus' all time career major record. Nicklaus won 18 majors in his career with Woods now tied with Walter Hagen for second place.
The 30-year-old Woods picked up $1,338,480 for his third British Open title while second placed DiMarco picked up $799,370 as he shot from 21st to sixth in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings.
Adam Scott finished best of the Aussies in a tie for eighth place earning $177,225 for his four days work.
