Vikings hire retired FBI agent
The Minnesota Vikings have reacted to a turbulent week off the field by hiring a former FBI agent as their new security director. The appointment comes only a week after reports surfaced of an over the top boat party attended by some players who are now under investigation for drunkenness and sexual misconduct on a charter cruise.
Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, who is trying to get government backing to finance a new stadium, wasted little time in relaying his disgust regarding the alleged incident to the Governor. He emphasised that the Vikings want to be seen as "being proactive."
Wilf said, "The commissioner emphasized to me that I inherited an organization that was inadequately structured and staffed. And that we must correct that to ensure the highest standards of team operations, including discipline, accountability, strong oversight and internal communications.''
